FINAL EXAM  TEST  Information
Math 1113 PreCalculus Online -Testing Instructions

(READ VERY CAREFULLY !)

Students,

Reminder  the FINAL EXAM test is scheduled for Tuesday 12-3-24  or Wednesday 12-4-24 or Thursday 12-5-24!

(NO OTHER OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE UNLESS WE HAVE TALKED!)

The final exam is comprehensive and will consist of questions from material covered in the entire course!

THERE IS ONLY 1 ATTEMPT FOR THIS TEST!
Be sure and do the practice final exam on MyMathLab! I suggest doing it several times.

The final exam test HAS TO BE TAKEN IN A PROCTORED ENVIRONMENT. The final exam will be given with the online test proctoring service
called HonorLock. There is a proctor fee of about $9. Your computer does have to meet
HonorLock requirements.
If you don't take the test with HonorLock you will need to come to campus to take the test.

An email message will be sent to you about a week (or sooner) before the test date to give instructions on how to take your final exam with HonorLock.
Be sure and look out for this email message!

YOU SHOULD NOT MISS ANY OF YOUR OTHER CLASSES TO TAKE THIS TEST!

MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY FOR THE TEST.

Remember tutoring is available if you need it.

BE SURE AND BRING YOUR CALCULATOR FOR THE TEST.  (Sorry no cell phones or computers are allowed to be used as calculators.
I think the ACE tutorial center will lend a calculator if you need one. )

Practice problems are available on the course website. Of course you should do this to get more practice getting ready for the test and to see if you are ready for the test.

Practice test problems are also available on MyMathLab like the homework but instead of clicking on the "Homework" tab you will click on "Quizzes & Tests" tab. The MyMathLab site grades the practice problems for you to get feedback on how well you know the material. Continue to do the practice problems until you get a good score!

USUALLY IF A STUDENT DOES WELL PRACTICING FOR THE TEST AND HOMEWORK THEN THEY DO WELL ON THE TEST.

I would also look over the course syllabus for additional information.

I WOULD SUGGEST PRINTING THIS EMAIL.

Tutoring is
available for
Finals Week
  • When is your Final Exam ?        CHECK THE BOTTOM OF THIS WEBSITE FOR THE SCHEDULE !
  • EVERYONE MUST TAKE THE FINAL EXAM!
  • I recommend studying your old tests and practice tests
(both on the class website and MyMathLab) to prepare for the final.
You should also study anything we did in class. (Class Notes, Textbook, online quizzes, etc.)
  • I think it is a good idea to "spread out" your study time. For example study a test per day.

Don't just study the night before the final!
  • The final exam will consists of either 33 or 50 multiple choice questions. (3 or 2 points each)   100 points total !
Don't assume the final exam is easy because it is multiple choice !
  • Be sure and get the formula sheet from above and practice with it as you study for the final.
  • Your final grade will be calculated as follows:

Add your 3 test scores + 3*(midterm) +  your homework grade + 3*(your final exam score) + bonuses
  • _________________________________________________________________________ = Final grade
  •                                                                  1000 points
  • You do NOT need to bring a Scranton I will provide one.
  • DON'T FORGET YOUR CALCULATOR !!        (I can't allow students to share calculators during the final exam.)
  • Cell phones are not allowed as calculators
  • Do your scratch work neatly. You may need to go back and look over a previous problem!
BE SURE TO USE A PENCIL ! (You may need to erase some work you do.)
  • Send me an email if you need to contact me before the final exam. kbarrs@ega.edu
